Batman: Arkham City was one of the biggest hits of 2011, an open-world adventure with an epic story spanning the Batman universe, set inside a walled-off section of Gotham City filled with villains and thugs on the receiving end of Batman's brand of vigilante justice. Now the caped crusader is getting a big Game of the Year edition, complete with all the downloadable extras plus a new adventure and a bonus movie.
Set for release on May 29, the GOTY edition includes all the content packs now available on Marketplace. In adition to the Catwoman story mode and the Robin and Nightwing challenge packs, you also get the skins collection so you can pick the Batman you want to play with (I'm particularly fond of the '70s era costume myself).
As a special bonus, the GOTY edition also includes a code for you to download the full Batman Year One movie. DC Universe's original animated movie brings Frank Miller's Year One graphic novel to life, which retold the Dark Knight's origins as a crime fighter from a decidedly hard-boiled point of view.
Harley Quinn's Revenge
Also included is an all-new chapter that wraps up the Dark Knight's saga. Starring the Joker's psychotic sidekick clown princess, Harley Quinn's Revenge sends you on a final mission into Arkham City, exploring new locations and switching between Batman and Robin as you search for clues to uncover and stop Harley's vengeful plan. If you already have Arkham City, Harley Quinn's Revenge will also be available as a separate Marketplace download on May 30.
