It’s been two and a half years. After all of the blood, sweat, tears and delicious pie, @XboxSupport has finally reached a landmark 1,000,000 tweets!

WOOHOO!!!!!

Check out tweet #1,000,000 above!

Millions of Numbers

While we’re not able to share all of the statistics relevant to reaching the 1 million tweet mark, we can share some. Keep in mind that most of the numbers below are accurate at time of writing but not necessarily at time of posting. It’s also worth mentioning that @XboxSupport began in August 2009, but our data tracking, other than tweet total, began in December 2009.

-          We’ve tweeted with over 237,024 unique customers!

-          Not including retweets or spam, that’s 208,751 different customers we’ve had conversations with!

-          The total number of tweets across all of our accounts is over 1,189,000!

-          We’ve sent a total of 2,916 Public Service Announcements—our term for sending a tweet to all of our followers about news or other Xbox LIVE releases!

-          10% of our total tweets happened during the month of December, 2011. A busy month for us!

The above graph measures how many tweets per month we’ve sent as far back as December 2009 across all of our @XboxSupport handles (if you’re unaware, we use a number of overflow accounts to tweet from when we’ve reached our primary account’s limit of tweets for the day).

As you can tell, there has been a steady increase in tweets sent as time has gone on. We hope it increases even further as more time passes!

Millions of Memories

@XboxSupport’s humble beginnings date as far back as August 2009, when we had only one person on the team tweeting. If you check our home page you can see on the left that we’ve EXPLODED into a team of (currently) 15 full time tweeters!

Since its foundation, the Elite Tweet Fleet has expanded to include both @ZuneSupport and @WinPhoneSupport, broadening our Twitter-based support from one Microsoft brand to three.

We reached 100,000 followers on June 16, 2011, nearly two years after the creation of the @XboxSupport handle. Currently, we have 170,000 followers and are on track to hit 200,000 less than a year after reaching 100,000!

In August 2011, the @XboxSupport Elite Tweet Fleet participated in its first ever exclusively featured panel at the Penny Arcade Expo, sharing our experiences, successes, tips and trolls with customers and industry professionals alike.

During our early days, we sent less than 100 tweets a day. Our biggest day, December 6th, 2011, saw us send more than 10,000 tweets.

Millions of Thanks

We can’t express how incredibly excited we are to have made it this far. However, we want to be sure to communicate one very important thing:

We’re not done yet.

We’re even more excited about the next million tweets…and the next million after that. The Xbox brand is always looking to the future of the industry—constantly innovating. @XboxSupport is no different. We’ll keep pushing the limits of customer service; continuing to break new ground with social media based support on Twitter and beyond.

Even if you’ve never tweeted @XboxSupport before, the Xbox Elite Tweet Fleet promises to be here to provide you the greatest customer service experience available on Twitter.

Finally, we’d like to give a special thanks to YOU! Without our customers, there is no Xbox. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for your continued support!

Until next time!

Lee (^LB of the Xbox Elite Tweet Fleet)

  • Something Witty :)

  • All your tweets are belong to XboxSupport

  • you guys are the Greatest !! thankyou.

  • Congrats XETF!

  • Congrats again on reaching a million tweets guys!

  • your welcome

  • Sound to me like you have a MILLION problems going on. Nothing to be proud of. Here's a Tweet for you guys; "FIX THE STUPID DASHBOARD FIRST." ....Then fix this problem; Playstation got the PSP Vita and we get synchronization with our phones. FIRE the person who thought of that, and pay someone who can design a real hand held console for us. STOP BEING CHEAP XBOX and customers wont have so many problems. 1 million tweets about how people are having problems with their XBOX experience is not an achievement at all. Now, UNDER 50,000 TWEETS about problems would've been a GREAT achievement for the support team bcuz at least like that customers are really sure you DUMMIES are doing most of your jobs correctly.  LESS TWEETS = LESS PROBLEMS = A BETTER XBOX LIVE EXPERIENCE......  STEP YOUR GAME UP XBOX TEAM !!!

  • Oh, And that Chart is all wrong. It should say " Cumulative Problems" not Tweets... See what i mean about not doing your jobs correctly.. You guys are all backwards... :o/

  • dont hate bug they are trying their best

  • And they are; with the crap they think we want. Tell me you wouldn't like a nice Xbox handheld that you can take with you everywhere and be able to do the things the vita does, and MORE. If your satisfied with the phone synchronization this year, hey, more power to you, but I rather play off a handheld system than my phone any day. When THEY FIX THAT PROBLEM then I'll know Xbox is supporting me. Most people hate the new dashboard, and they are aware, but have done nothing to change it or even apologized for it and WE PAY FOR THIS !! So dont come with some crappy comment about BUG hating and write to them what you really feel, and they might start listening to us. its gamers like you who are satisfied with this crap because you dont have a vision of how great the experience can really be for Paying customers.
