Evul Dave, it's only the second full day since the new update of the forums. They can't do it all at once. Currently, they are uploading the Game Forums, maybe if you get DMZilla or other Staff to notice what you want, they will bring it over.

Make an image in a sig appear only once per page; other forums have this. Have a size limit, ban posting images in regular posting if you must and just make it so a MOD has to approve the image in your sig. If they take it away that's bs.

Ah, thank you for the FAQ. It made re-adjusting to the new forum a little easier, is there a possibility of a my forum feature returning or have they totally scrapped it, as I found it to be the best feature on these forums.

Issues that were raised in the beta have been left in place. Apart from the tweaking of the default font colour I can't see that they've changed a thing based on the beta feedback.

Which really raises the question of why they bothered with the beta when they weren't going to act on the feedback from it.

Add me to the list of those who dislike the new forums.  Yeah, I know I'm a crotchety older gamer, but still....

Mostly due to "My Forums" being gone, horrible navigation and it seems I can no longer view the full Xbox.com site on my phone now.  :(

Also, did certain game discussion forums just get axed?  I can't seem to find even fairly recent titles like Batman: AA.

I am not getting a "Reply" button on all the posts.  Some posts have it and some don't.  

I have to constantly re sign-in, maybe that has something to do with it.

I am using IE9, but I have xbox.com in the compatibility settings.

I had that sign in problem yesterday. I'm using IE9 with compatibility off and it is working fine as of now.

Thought i would come back an see if the insane people at Microsoft changed the forums back but i guess they are too blind to see people don't like it and it is crap. Ugh well looks like i wont be at forums as much as i was before. Everything that was so awesome and user friendly in the old forum is gone. Seriously i have to favorite ***, there is no way to see if a thread has a new post, all of the forums i have posted in for years are gone (some with information on games i still play) Frankly Microsoft you *** up.

Well I cant find a feedback thread so I will post this here in the hope someone who reads it knows something.

Paragraphs, why doesn't it not just post it as its typed. (like it used to).

Links, maybe its me but is used to be easy. C&P the link click the paper clip and done. Now I don't have a clue.

Favourite threads you post in, 'My forums' worked better. And un-favourite them is a pain also.

Notification of PM's. there are none.

No notifications of new posts in a thread you have set as favourite.

Why was this apparently rushed out?, I say this because things that should be easy to do quite frankly are not.

Reporting something is a pain, I don't bother at all. We all know how it worked on the old forums, now you get dumped back at the beginning of the thread when you report something.

This isn't me saying bring back the old forums btw, Just putting this out there in the hope someone might know if any of these issues are going to be looked into.

(well I perceive them as issues anyway).

I could get used to this if some basic user friendly functionality was even considered by who ever created this forum.

That happened even on the old forums. 

I created a video resource thread in the Ninja Gaiden II sub-forums and asked DeaconMVP to pin it to the top of the topic list and every so often, it would drop.  I've had to ask DeaconMVP to bring it back up more than twice now.

Can't say I'm a fan of these new forums.  The older ones were easier to navigate, and they didn't sign you out every 5 minutes.  I've been signed out 3 or 4 times now since I've been here.

The quick reply is cool though.

How about an option to save what formatting options you want when using the "Rich formatting" reply feature, it can get a little irritating having to set it up each time...

Games missing a forum

I got an idea, instead of adding individual games back from a series that has many versions. Just add like the game series like COD or something like that.

The only thing that actually makes sense about these new forums is being able to post images, videos, etc.

And apparently they're going to take that away once they're finished except for moderators.  The rest of the GARBAGE is staying.  Go figure.

If you go into a forum, there is an option in the tabs about the content that read "All Recent, Unanswered, Unread, and Your Discussion". This last option appears to be the same as My Forums used to be, but only for the forum you are in. NOTE: Once selected, this option with carry over to any other forums you visit. Remember to change this back to "All" to see everything in a forum.

I know you all liked having a list of things you've commented in but the system now is such that you have to "favorite" a thread so that you can keep up with it.  At the top of each thread is a "Favorite Thread" button.  Hit that and when you go back to Forums Home, you'll be able to click on the "Forums" tab to check up on it.  This will keep track of every thread you'd like across multiple forums. 

 

There is also a "Your Discussions" option that keeps track of your activity within a specific forum section.  It tracks your activity in that section only so each time you select Your Discussions, it'll likely be different depending on the area you're in.  

This is the only part that I have a serious problem with. The new setup has made it much less user friendly to keep up on threads that you've been a part of. One one hand, it's nice that I don't have to keep seeing an old thread in my 'My Forums' section just because I made one single post in it ages ago and people keep posting in it.  On the other hand, however, it's really annoying that I have to physically make a thread a 'Favourite' thread, just so that I can easily find it. I guess it will take some getting used to, but it seems that these new forums (in general) are less user-friendly than the old ones.

Couple things, everything does transfer over Deacon as far as formatting goes.  Also, I pasted a lot of characters into a pm, the most being 11k, it went through fine.  Was happy to see this so I don't have to do the post, edit thing.  I tried 33k characters but it kept timing out, so I'm not sure how many we could get away with.  I'm guess it's 15-20k though. Just throwing it out the answers to my questions there I guess. 

Also, I thought you might want to add to your faq DMZilla's update about CUL.

Your CUL is naturally earned over time for being a good forum citizen and being regularly active. Some users, who go above and beyond the call of duty, have earned hidden bonuses/awards to their CUL. Unfortunately, when we moved the user database with the CUL levels over to the new forums, these awards could not be transferred. We are investigating the situation, but we know how much the CUL means to some of you and that you want it returned as soon as possible. So, we have a plan...

If you found that your CUL dropped when coming to the new forums, please send a PM to aka Scratch. He will check your claim against the old forums (available at forumsarchive.xbox.com) to verify what your CUL was in the old forums, which he will then carry over to your new forums CUL. This was a task that aka Scratch was kind enough to volunteer for, so please do not spam him with messages, or you will most likely receive a suspension from the forums. "

CUL isn't broken just boosted/held back CUL were removed. Just get use to it. It shows post count quantity that is all. CUL is much more fair now instead of the friends in high places CUL style from before. Complaining about it makes people look vein. There are two people on this subject, those who whine and those who asked what happened and move on.  To see XB xperts and various other people who have earned some form of title complaining so much about something so trivial vs real issues is very disappointing.

You will get use to your CUL in a week,  just like were suppose to get use to the forums in week.

Not really ... due to the migration some users will notice their CUL has been altered.  It was an unfortunate thing that happened with the new forums.  It wasn't anything that you did wrong...it was a system thing.  I don't know if it will be adjusted or not.

There's the real problem. You think some people are mad at you for no reason whatsoever. I don't agree with the way you do a few things, just like you don't agree with me on a lot of things but there is a big difference between not agreeing and being mad at someone.  Insecurity?

For my part, I ain't mad at you about anything. I just don't agree on certain things. Clear now?

I already have my CORRECT number back...

I really miss the "My Forums"  from the 1st post it sounds like we'll never have that functionality again and we'll have to favorite the thread.  Also when a thread is a favorite, I can't skip to the last page on the initial click.  MS should have just used a pre-packaged message board instead of trying to re-invent the wheel.

How can I start a new post in the Xbox 360 game forum section, new post are being added but I only have the option to start a new post in the forums feedback, not in games. Thank you.

Well for some, CUL has changed, aside from the ones whose CULs were reinstated or were never altered in the first place. It holds a new meaning in general now since people who were dropped or held back are now higher levels.

It's all holds little value regardless, only ones which matters are the letters.

Working "hard" to get recognition? CUL should of been something that goes up when higher up notice good not people who made friends with the right people. Sadly that is how most went up. What was truly sad is all the people that didn't ask why but cried why they dropped levels in CUL.

If your actually doing good deeds You shouldn't be qqing that your good deeds have stopped being recognized. All that shows is that people were more attached to a number then really being good natured.

Your either "worked hard" or got it out of good honest help but working toward a virtual numerical boost is not having the community in mind. It's a selfish act. As is right now CUL of 7 for example still means nothing, as currently it's is obtainable simply by post counts.  So the "good nature" mentality of that what CUL means has no ground regardless of people being boosted back up.

People really need to let go of the idea that CUL means you did some good deeds now. It means post count. To raise CUL they raise your post count.

For once, I have to agree with your statement. Total truth.

As exciting as "CUL" discussions are ....

It would be nice to add a settings option to automatically add a topic to your "My Forums" upon posting.

It would also be nice if there was a way to identify topics with new / unread posts within "My Forums".

How about adding the ability to search within a specific subforum from within the subforum?

There were definitely a lot of things to complain about on the old (and older) xbox.com forum, but the removal of such basic features really makes it difficult to move forward. 

The ability to search for posts by user seems to no longer be available (or I just can't find it ... which would be a problem in itself).  Another basic function that all forums should have.
