Just finished Mass Effect 3 and.....
Well, call me the odd man out or whatever weird Internet insult you want. But, I don't understand what the big deal is about the ending. I don't understand the complaints. I don't understand the "controversy." I don't understand the fan outrage. The ending was very "science-fiction," as I would put it. I'm totally fine with the ending.
So, there you go.
As someone else has mentioned we were promised that the ending would give more answers than it would leave questions, we'd have conclusion and resolution. Also promised was that we wouldn't just have a A,B or C ending.
They provided the exact opposite to that.
Also then comes the plot-holes, as minor as some may seem to be. [spoilers]We quite clearly see that there is only one path to the console room where we meet the Illusive Man, so how did Anderson who came onto the Citadel after Shepard (in a supposed different location) beat Shepard to the console? Why was the Normandy running away at the end through a Mass Relay? Joker would have had to be leaving before the explosion took place, so what made him abandon the fight? Then of course how did the people who were on Earth with you get back onto the Normandy, if it could stop long enough to pick them out of the rubble then why didn't they pick Shepard up at the same time?
Then we go to the final conversation [spoiler]with the Star-Child. If the Protheans did not know what the Catalyst was or that the Star-Child even existed, then how did their additions to the Crucible design make it an essential part? If you are designing a gun and you don't know bullets exists, you either use something else or design your own bullets. Why did Shepard meekly accept everything that the Star-Child was saying. "Synthetics will always destroy organics", why could I not argue against that logic since I not only brokered peace between the quarians and the geth but helped in getting the romance between Joker and EDI started.Even without that, why was Shepard accepting anything the Star-Child was saying? Call me silly but the thing that created and controls the Reapers is not something I would trust in telling me how to stop them.
I could have added a lot more but those are the points that irked me the most.
