  • I came across a players Emblem that simply said [Mod Edit] Now I am not offended by it as he (and I can be fairly sure it was a boy).

    That was reported.

I have seen [Mod Edit], reported.

    NO Imagination and no skill.

    -

I watched the video that was posted here on how to make the Yankees emblem - very clever and talented in my view.

    -

The game may be rated as Mature but those ratings, as far as I am aware, are related to content in the campaign and not the online elements. There is no bad language or mature content in the online game other than by the players.

  • I hate offensive emblems because they're not all that great to look at & are usually very unoriginal or distasteful. More than anything though, I hate them because it makes it incredibly hard to save film clips. If I upload a video to YouTube, & a dolphin's wanker shows up, for example, I'll have to take the extra time to censor it out.

  • You can't get banned on YouTube for cartoon [Mod Edit]. I've seen them countless times in videos.

    .

Also, that would mean [Mod Edit] wouldn't be allowed on YouTube.

  • I agree with the 2nd poster, this game is rated M for a reason. It's basically like saying, play at your own risk. I think the problem with this world is too many people try to be politically correct and bow to the complaints of others. It's kinda like reporting a radio station for being offensive, to which I say, don't tune in.

People shouldn't let their little kids play this game online, not because of the content, but for the very reason you gave. Next people will compain when people cuss, that's what the mute button is for. Or you can go under privacy settings and turn off everything that allows your child to communicate with others.

    I keeps it real!

  • Does anyone know if it is possibe to turn off emblems completely. I really don't care about them at all. I would rther just not see [Mod Edit] on my screen all the time. Not that I'm overly offended, it just constantly reminds me of how hard it is to play a game with such a retarded community.

  • I've seen so many [Mod Edit] in BLOPS that I kind of don't care anymore. Really.

    .

Actually sometimes they add humor to the game, just seeing how anatomically inaccurate they are. No[Mod Edit]

  • The game may be rated MATURE but those that make those emblems surely aren't.

  • The game may be rated M but that is for over the counter sales. That way people have a bit of an idea of what to expect with the content. Every game box I have seen that has online play says "ESRB Notice: Game Experience May Change During Online Play"  so some images you see may make the game rated A, That type of content would most likely be against the ToU and CoC for Xbox LIVE and Activision. So if you find it offensive or against the CoC and ToU report it.

  • ...and we do; it'd just be nice to actually "see" the results of the reporting. Like an Xbox Live message or something, that says "so & so has been banned, suspended, etc. due to your report. Thank you for making Xbox LIve a better, safer community."

  • Oh I think it might be cool but I don't see that ever happening. I think people would do more and pay more attention to terms if you could see actions taken.

  • I think the in game emblems and disciplinary actions for them is handled by TA and not the XBL guys, eh? (I dunno for sure) I have made a few complaints for really vulgar stuff.

  • Level: 2
  • I also report the emblems, and occasionally file complaints on them as well..as it falls under profile/ in game content...we can all continue to make the live community a better place to be :)

So people who see racist emblems deserve to feel discriminated  against by other players? That logic makes no sense. I report emblems left and right and trust that they will be handled by Treyarch who I know hand out emblem editor suspensions.

  • Here's a question for all you Xbox Live Officials: If I report someone for using vulgar in-game content/images through Xbox Live rather than the game's reporting system, will you know what game that content was reported in or do you guys have to find out on your own?

I do find it very comical that  you guys think you are doing good by reporting the emblems.  Xbox lives saviors!!!

What is that supposed to mean? If they are not reported nothing gets done about them.

  • " So people who see racist emblems deserve to feel discriminated  against by other players? "

no, but everybody that plays COD KNOWS who they are playing with/against.  i dont condone racist emblems but then again, ive yet to see any. the body parts are usually wack but sometimes they are really creative and actually pretty hilarious. mabye its the fact that i believe in freedom of speech and also that things as trivial as an emblem or whatever do not make me feel any different than when i started playing that day.

  • @Toddy Seeing how your profile has the ambassador logo, you should be encouraging people to report anything that violates the Tou and CoC. Also for anyone who tries to use the "Freedom of speech" thing. You lost your freedom of speech when you agreed to the Tou when you made your xbox live account

  • Is there an option to not view emblems? My title and emblem bar is still blank because I just simply don't care. I don't care how much time you put into your emblem, I don't look at it anyways. And I'd sooner just not see peni all over the place because they're like a bad joke. Not offensive or anything, but just not funny. It reminds me of all those people who try to be funny but are just being annoying - as are the emblems they made.

Today took the cake when I saw male genitalia with pubic hair used as a beard; it even had a tie & a face on the tip. Ugh!

  • i was just pointingout the fact that somke gamers believe most emblems are ***' and breasts etc... theres some but not too many and ive played alotta games so far ive seen a few but not nearly as many as people are letting on that there is.

  • While that may be, they're still there. Every time I see one I'm reminded of why I took a break from call of dude-bro-y. Half the people who play the game a damn tools. One guy thought it was funny to put a *** in his emblem. Now every tool thinks its funny, but its not. It just shows how uncreative, unfunny, unoriginal, and just straight up annoying and brainless they are.

  • I'm not offended by the over the top emblems - I just think they're stupid. Treyarch put's this powerful tool into the game for people to flex their creative muscles, and the best these idiots can come up with is a swastika or genitalia?  And to think, people say COD's fan-base is immature.

  • @NICCSACC   I would rather all these little kids and immature players not be on xbox live and if that means reporting them for cheating, boosting, offensive emblems then so be it. Hopefully one day we won't have to deal with brats.

  • we will tho...short bus passengers are on live to stay. fact.

its like duping on BL2. THAT ruined that game for the most part, strate up.

i never reported one of the hundreds of dupers IVE ran across that were blatantly smug about lowering the value of THAT property, per se.

fact is, reporting is just feeding the trolls giving them the attention, however miniscule an amount it is... :)

ignoring them and their poo poo joke emblems is alot more detrimental to them in all actuality. think about it.

reporting them will NOT STOP it tho thats for sure. dont believe the hype.

  • Personally I have not seen to many yet.  At the same time just because the game has a M rating doesn't mean we have to make a emblem of a body part, a body part doing something, or body parts doing something together.  People that do that kind of stuff need to be banned permanantly from the edito to never use it again.

  • @Toddy Perhaps you should quit the xbox ambassador program since you seem to think that reports do nothing. If you have that attitude about offensive emblems I'd hate to see what other kind of reports you think are "A waste of time"  We have a report offensive emblem option for a reason

  • Let people have their emblems. If they choose to represent themselves to others in that fashion, they deserve the image they are presenting.  If they ever grow up, they'll be ashamed of themselves, and embarassed by their juvenile behavior.  If they never "grow up", there's nothing you can do to, or for, them. The developers were fools, if they truly didn't see the potential for abuse when they allowed people to create their own emblems.  Remember all the clan tags with the obscene figures made up of &?  The game is rated "M", so except for lousy parents, kids shouldn't be seeing this, and adults can handle it.

Reporting won't stop them completely but it certainly helps narrow the numbers down. What if society decided that since we can't stop all the criminals we shouldn't bother having a police force. We'll just ignore the crimes and they will go away.

    Same logic. Use your brain.

  • Level: 3
  • Crime and juvenile behavior aren't the same thing,. Damage to property and causing bodily injury are not the same as just being stupid.  I'm not against reporting them, I'm just saying they are disrespecting and embarassing themselves with their behavior, not the rest of us. ;oD

  • Level: 5

  • Didn't say they were the same thing. Reporting is the same no matter how you look at it. Thus similar logic.
