Freezing!!

I make it to traffic and go on my first case, I take a random call that comes over the radio and my game constantly freezes.  Anyone else having the game freeze on them?

Nope. My game runs smooth as silk. Do you have disc 1 installed?

Just froze again as I was unlocking my first hidden car.  I wonder if it has something to do with the Beta dashboard?

I haven't even got past the intro video. Sometimes I don't get past the black loading screen after selecting a "new" game. Either my disc is defective or this game is garbage, either or wouldn't surprise me. Sigh, had the worst luck with new games lately.

Bummer man, I at least get a chance to play it.  Are you beta testing the new dash by chance?  Im trying to see if there is any correlation between the two.

I'm still trying to get through the 1st case! So far I haven't been able to play for more than 10 minutes w/o the game freezing. It has frozen 4 times now, it took me 3 tries just to get out of the alleyway! I love the game already but this is seriously ruining the immersion for me.

I'm on the new dashboard and the game froze so i installed it on my hard drive and now I can't even get the game to load up

I don't have the dash beta and it is freezing for me as well. I am also on the first traffic case. It has froze just about once every case, and the textures don't load properly.

I have the beta installed via internet download. I have the game now, after work in about 3 hrs I'll see if I have any problems with mine.

Im guessing a TU is going to be in the works very soon. Im having the freeze issue as well. The game is really great just needs a bit tweaking with the freeze issue

I find it hard to call it great if i can't play it. Very disappointed right now. People are reporting frequent freezes on both platforms so its not just an xbox issue.

I'm having the same problem. I returned it, and got a new game, and that's not working either. This game keeps freezing.  All my other games are playing just fine. Anyone have the solution to this problem?

No solution yet, just replay it and hope for the best.  Sometimes it takes more than one retry I've found out.

I haven't had the freezing issue yet.  I don't have the dashboard beta and haven't installed to my harddrive if that helps.

My very first scene was choppy, I figured it was going to freeze but then everythign was ok. Well so far ..

I've had a little bit of choppiness and one complete freeze where I had to turn off my 360 and start it back up again. No major game breaking issues encountered yet, but a number of little annoyances.

It happened in the first case several times but slowly started to stop for me. No more Freezing so far.

Yes, my game keeps freezing more frequently the longer I play.  I am on the new dashboard and I do have the game installed.  Oh I have an Xbox Elite.

I've had the game freeze on me once. It was when I pressed to "Y" button on the title screen.

I am encountering frequent freezing especially during the full motion video segments. I have the non beta OS and an xbox from 2009.

Nvm i solved my problem, my friend told me to install it to my hardrive...and its workin fine soo happpy

my game freezes at the team bondi screen. it's a nice logo and everything, but it's not $60 nice. i'm going to try installing it to my HD and see if that works.

Yeah, the game locked up on me once. I have it installed on the HD....

I haven't been able to get past the first loading screen.  I do have the beta OS, and I have one of the first 360's.  It started off with a 20 Gig HD.

Same here.  In my situation it in the "A Marriage Made In Heaven" mission I go thru it fine until I go to call the dispatch...it always freezes up when he gets on the phone.  I hope they fix this soon.  Secondly, we all know its not the xbox.  Especially considering I just bought a new 2 days ago

I am happy to report the freezing has stopped *knocks on wood* I have not yet downloaded this game to my HDD but it seems to be working better than  BOs, HF, BFBC2, and C2 combined

ive had no freezing issues so far....im about 24% complete....

I have had no problems at all either.  I have the Slim and i haven't installed the game to my hard drive.

It's been freezing since the first mission, now I'm about 4 in and it won't stop freezing. I'm in the middle of the mission with the actress and her niece (I think) after we walk out of the front of hotel (from basement room) on way to prop house. If I have the partner drive it freezes black screen, if I drive to the prop house it always freezes within a block. I've also tried driving to the hidden cars, got one with no issues, drove to the next and it froze when I was right outside of it.

Xbox mfg date of mid '08, 20 gb hdd. I started playing straight from disc and it froze, installed on hdd and it still freezes. Have an open ticket with R* and nothing's came of it.

I'm so fed up I'm considering trading in the game before the rest of the country figures out about this and the price drops considerably. Granted it's not happening to everyone (jealous) but it's real annoying dropping $60 on a game that's making my 360 freeze... what's next RRoD from this game??

<update: my dashboard is just the basic one, and I went thru that process that R* recommends on the link from Mikey, no luck.>

I submitted a bug to MS via connect and they "assume/confirm" that it is a title issue and not an issue with the beta dash.  Sounds about right, seems like its gaining some traction though, hopefully it will get looked at by R* soon.

Thanks for the link Mikey,  maybe I'm reading this wrong, but "create a new silver account" and play that way?  Wouldn't that jack up all my achievements and such?

I saved the first disc to my HD and this still happened. I was amazed that the very first scene did this. So far the rest of the game hasn't been so choppy, except for a few driving cut scenes.

I'm playing on a Slim 360, with the game installed, no beta dashboard and so far the game has not had any major freezing problems. The only problem I ran into was the intro video, it was a little choppy. Not sure if this helps at all just figured I'd throw out my own experience.

I'm having the same problem on a 20GB 360. I start the game up and before it gets to the main menu it freezes on me. I was able to get to the first mission and it froze on me again. Just non-stop freezing to the main menu and all my other games work just fine. I've got the disc update beta as well.

I'm having freezing issues as well. I had the same exact problem as a previous poster on the "A Marriage Made In Heaven" case. When I went to use the phone in the Cafe it froze on me. I'm on an older model 360.

Older samsung 360.

No dash Beta.

Game not installed.

One freeze on the first case and since then no problems. Yet.
