  • I understand that a company may have other projects to work on, some that may be making more money and that you have to use your resources according to what makes sense for your mission statement.

but lets be real if you dedicate resources to a project and anounce a project that is little more than a small add on and port and still have not delivered in over a year it's because your not going to release it and instead of step up and dissapoint your customers you just wait till it's not relevant anymore and let it die with a slow whisper.

so will cold stream ever ocme out, the math says not a chance.

whats really sad is that a supposed industry leader that loves it's community has once again shown that once your big little ppl dont matter, they say that want to give it for free and they have issue with charging console players, yet console owners say let us pay for what we want, if your community is dying to pay for a product that was going to be free and you still don't release it it's only because you never will.

Valve good job at becoming whats wrong with america, no accountability.

  • Your statement is false.

Cold Stream will come to the Xbox 360 after a few more things are fixed. Please remain patient, and understand that Valve is working on it and will ship a finished product, not a rushed incomplete product.

  • I read something the other day on this forum about Valve really missing a trick with L4D2 what with the zombie craze out at the moment, they could have done so much more ...

  • It's not that "it's never coming to Xbox" but it's more of the fact that they have given estimated dates since last year and none have been met. The bigger question is why does anybody still care about a DLC that features old maps from a game most L4D2 people own or have owned. Yes, there's 1 new map "cold stream" but it's not worth the hype and wait. Like Immortal said they could have been killing sales with the zombie craze, worked on a new engine and hit the game with Left 4 Dead 3 but people are still focused on a DLC. I love L4D series and I understand people still play, it's fun but I rather complain about no L4D3 than Cold Stream.

Coming Soon: The Last Of Us and Beyond: Two Souls.

  • I understand your point, but no-one should complain about anything. It's taking time to to fix things with the DLC, and L4D3 wouldn't be in development yet. Since they're porting all L4D1 maps to L4D2, I know there isn't a L4D3 or they wouldn't have ported anything over.

Plus Valve has already hinted that the next DLC will include a Campaign version of The Last Stand.

  • Trust me, I didn't mean complain literally lol but just saying I rather wait on L4D3 than a DLC for a old game. I highly doubt it'll bring back much traffic, maybe for a week or 2, tops. And yeah i know there isn't any word on a L4D3 and maybe there won't be one but they Definitely could make a killing working on that. New engine, new characters, maps, weapons, zombies, make a better story, I can only hope lol. Until then I have Dead Island. Again, I love L4D, it has so much potential but just seems to be wasted. Right now it's an Xbox exclusive and it could easily be one of the hottest exclusives ever!

  • I wish I had your faith in Valve, but didn't they announce DLC for Team Fortress? what happened there is what I belive will happen here, if cost outweigh profit and development or bug fixing can't be managed in a reasonable fashion, sometimes it's better to cut your losses and move on, besides developers often realease games and add ons that need updates in order to meet consumers demands and time lines, Valve could have easily brought this product to market unless it's so broken that fixes are most likey impossible, as anything time will tell, but I hold little hope of them fullfilling on there promise.

  • I could have sold my game copy 6 months ago.

I did not cause valve promised me the DLC for the summer.

    .

This people make great games but are big liars too.

    .

And i make laugh of those who are saying to be patient cause they are working on it: 1 years for 3 maps porting and a new one means that for the entire game they must work for a couple of decades.

  • Level: 2
  • Make that 4 ported maps & Cold Stream as Crash Course is also a part of the package & being that you get 4 ported maps also means new tactics w/ the new special infected

  • Level: 5
  • Nothing really new about it though, we all know how to handle jockeys, spitters and chargers. When and if they ever release the DLC it wouldn't bring much traffic anyway, the Friday updates are even stupid now. Still can't believe they let L4D go downhill like this, smh.

  • honestly if there still talking about early next year it being SUBMITED for VERIFICATION then it's not going to happen, two years for an update, ppl it only took a year to make part two, if somehow this finally comes out on xbox360 (which they didnt mention they only talked about PC) no one will care, that ship has sailed and it has hurt the franchise as a whole, they should have spent the last two years working on L4D 3.

Funny how every big developer out there can come out with a full game on a yearly basis yet Valve (who obviously is out classed in every way by other developers) pretends to be in the same ranks, get real, better watch out Valve, GameStop now has a online PC gaming site and at this rate your days are numbered.

  • They are talking of DLC which means xbox 360.

On pc the "new" campaigns came out months ago.

  • Once it's sent in for certification, it'll only take roughly two weeks after that to be released.

I'm sure it'll be released no later than March, most likely January-February.

  • Level: 1
  • With Valve time early next year probally means Dec, lol

  • Level: 1
  • I've been hearing the cold stream is pretty lame anyway and from the videos on youtube I'd have to agree, nothing really fantastic about it, surely not worth a two year wait, hope the ports are bug free otherwise I'll feel ripped off.

  • Level: 5
  • Don't get your hopes up. The twitter feed said they will submit it "early" next year, no actual month so they could easily hold off until the middle or end of year. As we all know, they have promised the DLC for quite some time now. I think someone said it in a post earlier but the amount of time it's taking they could have released another game. This much focus a DLC with ported maps and 1 new one is kind of silly. But when released it should be no bugs whatsoever lol.

  • A campaign version of The Last Stand is a good bonus I never expected.

I'm sure the long wait we be worth it!

    An absolutely spiffing bundle indeed!

  • Yes they did the same with Team Fortress 2. They strung along an entire community for a year and a half. As someone else said they did never mention it after the year and a half. Never answered any questions about it and just let it fade away as if they never said they would release it. For those of you waiting on L4D3 check this out: Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, L4D2, Portal 2. They NEVER make it to three. So if I were you I wouldnt hold my breath. It took them over 10 years to develop TF2 ya know. If their track record shows anything, it shows that L4D3 is not gonna happen. Same with the add on's.

  • I actually refuse to buy Valve products anymore. I suggest some of you do the same. The way I see it is that if you dont like something then dont support it. Valve is a bunch of pocket protector wearing lazy as#es who answer to Gabe Newell whom which cannot get the da$m doughnuts out of his mouth long enough to delegate their operations in a timely or reasonable fashion. In other words Valve sucks.

  • Valve is one of the best software house out there.

    Their games are simply great.

    .

It's just they use valve time which is fairly different from world time.

  • Level: 1
  • I wouldn't go as far to say that Valve sucks; they just take forever to do stuff. Which can get irritating, but at least the games are really good in the long run.

  • Level: 5
  • No, im sorry they really do suck. Maybe you dont think so now but you will hate them in due time. The best companies are Rockstar and Capcom. They release things on the exact same date as they announced plus the titles are far better than some repetitive, no story zombie game (aka L4D2). GTA, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, Street Fighter, Dead Rising, Resident Evil. The list goes on. Hit game after hit game. Valve has been making console games for over 4 years now. All the titles before mentioned have come out during this time. Valve has released 4 games since then. 4!!!!

  • It's a matter of taste dude.

To me saying gta is a good game (not great, only good) it sounds funny.

I hate rockstar and their stupid childish games.

    So?

    .

Street fighter? Are you serious? LOL

    .

It's just a matter of taste: if i look at your game list i laugh.

    .

But it's just a matter of taste.

  • Level: 1
  • Like he said, it's a matter of taste. I was never interested in any of the games you mentioned, I always preferred the L4D series because I could really get into it. It may not remain to be my #1 game, but it'll still be one of my favorites.

I don't see a good reason to hate the entire company. Again, they do take a long time, but usually it's worth the wait, in my opinion.

  • Level: 5
  • Taste I can understand. However I enjoyed L4D2 for about a year and since nobody play the add on's you were forced to play the same what 5 maps over and over. Its gets old even though I had a good run, only played verses, and rarely lost. I have witnessed Valve mess up and mess up again. I meam just to get a game started usually takes at least 20 minutes. Then when you actually would get a game going people would rage constantly which I dont understand. Some of the greatest moments were a come from behind win on the last map. Valve doesnt fix anything, they make false claims of DLC content which goes all the way back to 2007 with TF2 . Not just the past year with L4D2. Even when they do release DLC its always late from the date they set. Back to taste you guys go on playing the same maps and waiting for something new that will never come. I will go on playing a variety of games and enjoying them all. Why does no one seem to realize that Valve has left you all 4 dead.

  • I am not defending "valve time".

I hate delays, i hate how slowly they work.

I sometimes feel insulted by the lack of informations.

    .

I was just arguing about the fact that capcom and rockstar make better products which could be true for you but surely not for me.

  • Level: 5
  • ^^ I agree with all 3 of you. I mean I was hardcore L4D2 for awhile. Got L4D1 after and played nonstop, got real good. But man it's just so outdated now. I honestly don't see how people still play the same maps over & over everyday still but that's where I agree with uait and epic, I guess itS just taste. I haven't played L4D since about August of last year until this past weekend and WOW! Old lol. The only fun thing about it was I forgot the controls so it was a lot of laughs from my *** ups. I then got out of my time machine and got back to the present and thought to myself, "wow that game needs a complete refresh!", my bud I was playin with said the same thing. I'm not holding my breathe for a L4D3, it's tons of great games coming for 2012 but I'll say it again, that's what they need, not an outdated DLC.

Coming Soon: The Last Of Us and Beyond: Two Souls.
  • Level: 1
  • Yeah, I can definitely understand getting bored with the same maps. I probably will too eventually; especially since Xbox players get so much less than PC players. I would gladly welcome L4D3, if they added new maps or new features that weren't in the previous games.

As for Valve Time, I hate it too. I'm not sure what it is that makes it always happen, but they'd have a lot more happy customers if they tried to at least speed it up a bit. I like their games, but they get way too lazy on all the things they say they'll do.

  • Level: 5
  • I mean I think they did good with content for Xbox. They had The Passing, The Sacrifice and then all those mutations that were fun. I just think the game has run its course so maybe they are not as motivated lol. If they bring out Cold Stream, cooh, I won't buy it because I'm done with L4D unless a new game is released. They are about a year too late with the DLC. Someone said if before but yeah Valve is more for the PC gaming and this is another example. It's just tons more you can do on a pc. All the custom maps and mods, keeps it sort of fresh but I'm not shelling out that much cash just for L4D lol. Valve apparently does have an announcement this year that supposively has a "3" in it but that could be anything. They denied it's Half-Life 3 but there is no telling at this point.

Coming Soon: The Last Of Us and Beyond: Two Souls.
  • Level: 5
  • Wow really a three? Im surprised. I agree with about everything you said Cruzin. All I have been saying is that valve time this time around is a repeat of TF2 add on's. They are not coming. Even though I wouldnt buy it, it shows me personally why valve sucks. I wish I still had it but there is a pic floating around of a lady in a moo moo on her couch. The lady is smacking her keyboard for her computer from across the room with her cane. The sign behind her on her wall says "Valve home office". I love that pic.

  • Well Valve has once again been promoting cold stream so it looks like we might actually get some DLC this year (maybe) but uh oh whats this, Capcom has Resident Evil out in March, have you seen the versus gameplay video out on youtube, yikes! I fear that even tho I won't be playing a zombie that it'll be hard to play some outdated DLC when I can play a fresh zombie game, deathmatch-capture the leader-extraction-capture the flag type versus gameplay, come on whats to not be excited about, it has it's own version of boomer bile, you can meat shield a zombie, it has a cover mechanic, plus customize your appearance all from day one, Valve stop making console games,....you suck at it!!!!!

  • Level: 1
  • Remain patient as this DLC is due to be shipped sometime in FEBUARY.

The main reason for the delay is due to the size of the DLC ( 5/6 MAPS ) and major bug issues for each map.

They've taken a *** load of time over this but the long wait will be worth it.

So be cool and chill out just like me.
