I've been getting system freezes during the loading screens since progressing past the prologue; more than 10 so far this morning.  I've also got the dirty disc error a few times at different points; some during starting the game, one during a failed attempt to install the game, and a couple during playing the game.  I'm not sure what's causing this.  I have a fairly new Xbox 360 (early 2011 model), and my other games run fine (Skyrim, Batman; Arkham City, COD;MW3).

Is anyone else having these issues?  I can't seem to find anything related to these errors and ME3.

You might want to consider taking the game back to the store and exchange it for a different copy.  If the same thing happens with a different copy, then something is either wrong with the game iteself or your Xbox.

Sorry, didn't realize that I posted this with an alt profile.  Anyway, I'm hoping to see anyone with similar issues reply here.  I don't see how it could be the disc....it looks fine upon close inspection.  My xbox runs my other games fine...no issues there.

I'm only suggesting it could be a disc issue because I have had issues with other games in the past not working right and after I exchanged it for a different copy, those issues were no longer a problem.  But like you said, we'll have to wait and see if others have this problem as more people (including me) pick up their copies later today.

I've had this same problem too. Game just gave me the disc read error message.

Installing should solve disc read errors.

No problems here, try installing the disk. If that doesnt work return it and get a new copy

I've tried installing.  The game always gets a dirty disc error during install.

Then the disc is dodgy, take it back.

yeh ur best bet is to take it back for another copy.

I'm having the same problem.

mine got a black screen and freeze ; but i was playing the MP.

Took my disk out and looked at it. Found a big gouge in it. Returning it today for a replacement.

I am getting it but only on the DLC mission so I dont know if its really a dirty disc error.

I got a new ME3 disk. Same problem. Interestingly, it did go a little further.

This happen to us before with happened to us with Modern Warfair 3. We brought that game back 3 times. Finanlly we got one that worked. Now what the game stop folks said is they believe their is an issue with some of the first drives in the Xbox 360s. Although they work some of the time, they have a lot of reading issues. Microsoft is hush hush about it just like they were with the over heating issue in the 1st generation XBox 360's. Yes I know, I already had one of those fail. We have 3 Xboxes in our house. One is brand new and still in the box. I am going to try that one tonight and will let you know if it works. If so, MS has some esplainin :) to do.

gothe same issue no install and dirty disc errors. only game with issues and disc look fine, got mine from origin so did my brother neither were shrink wrapped

I sometimes get an error with one of my ME2 discs when I try to run them and I've never had it dropped or anything of the sort.

at first I rented the ME3 and I would get unrecognized disc error. After multiple tries I took a closer look at the disc and it was dirty as if a Pixie had pooped all over it. SO i took it back. they had no other copy so I got a free rental. Then I decided I really wanted to play this game. I went and bought it. unseal it. Have a look at the disc. Never saw a xbox game that clean in my life. No lies. I put it in: Unrecognized Disc.

Then I put in NBA 2k12: Play NBA 2k12.

Then I put in Naruto Ultimate Ninja storm 2 : Play Naru...

ME3 still not working.

I had the same problems with MW3

then Battlefield 3

then Skyrim

Only difference with those 3: is that I actually got to play the games before they "RANDOMLY STOPPED WORKING AFTER MICROSOFT HAD XBOX LIVE UPDATED"

Will I ever get to play ME3? I dont know. Doesn't look good.

I am having issues as well.  Tuesday night about an hour and a half in, i got the dirty disc message using Disc 1.  I installed disc 1 and had no issues after that.  last night, I needed to use disc 2 at one point, and after about an hour of that, I got a dirty disc error as well.  Didn't realize I need to install both discs; I installed it and it worked fine the rest of the night.  But i'm not exactly confident this isn't going to keep going on as I continue.

I have been getting the "disc is unreadable" message on disc 2. It freezes sometimes in gameplay and on loading screens. I the message at least 16 times since tuesday and i have to admit im getting pretty pissed. I think ill take it back to gamestop soon so hopefully i wont get another f 'ed up game

Mine froze my whole Xbox where you enter the firing range in the Spectre office.  Everytime I opened the door to it, black and then frozen.

I think after the 4th time rebooting my Xbox was when it stopped.  Talk about a buzz kill.  I thought it would be a little cooler in there.

I got the CE and have swapped disc one THREE TIMES. Annoying EBgames.

Been on the phone to support and I still cannot install or play diosc 1. I can install disc 2 fine, disc 1 either has disc read error at 60% of install or just wont load / freezes.

I have Gears of War 3 (new format disc) and it installs and plays fine, as do ALL my other games.

Please fix this Bioware / MS. My hearts broken.

I'm in California..I been playing the Campaign since Tuesday like everyone else..only thing I encountered was visual graphical issues...I barely touched the Multiplay until today. Right after ONE match I went to customize my character, went back to start a Quick Match and I got a Dirty Disc Error. My Xbox360 is a Pre owned Black Matte had it since last year of November, I haven't had any issues UNTIL now right after that 27min match...and I barely got on my 360 during that time.

Okay I found a fix for mine. Don't know if i will catch flack for this but I broke my hd case awhille back and ordered a case off ebay to drop my drive into. Seems the connection was going bad. I dropped my drive into another case (always keep a backup), presto no disc errors. For those who may not have another case for their hd try cleaning the connection on it maybe it will work. Hope I helped someone.

I installed both discs before playing'em(CE if that matters) and randomly while doing a mission on Disc 2 I get the dirty disc error or whatever and it reverted me to the dashboard. At first I thought my 360 was starting to crap out(it's like a 3 year old Pro model) but now I see it's a pretty common problem. I'll admit I'm somewhat relieved and yet still a bit disappointed. Hopefully it's something Bioware can patch or something.

It kept freezing on me when I tried to enter the firing range at the Citadel too. I quit trying after the 3rd time. I'm installing the disc now to see if that will help. I'll try to remember to post any changes.

I have this problem where, after conversations have been had by several AI's, the game freezes. However when I press the Xbox menu button, it gets back to normal! Anyone with the same problem?

Getting this problem with disc 2 all the time. I can't install disc 2  as it keeps saying the disc is dirty, even though it's clean, don't have any problems with disc 1 or any other game. Disc 2 will run from time to time but then when you go into a mission it locks up or freezes. Will try and exchange it for another copy but I don't hold out much hope that it will solve the issue.

Change my copy and again it's not working.  Must be a fault with the batch of disc 2 that have been shipped.

I don't think Bioware is at fault. I think it's EA, because I've had issues with multiple EA published games. All others play fine on my system. EA seems to have quality control issues in their disc making process.

I've had this same problem with the transition between conversation and regular gameplay causing a freeze that seems to get unstuck by opening the XBox guide.

In addition, I'm getting the same disc issues as everyone else, although I'm 12 hours into the game and they're just showing up.  Played on disc 1 fine, had to swap to disc 2 - no problems there, when it prompted me back to disc 1, I got the read error.  Restarted my XBox, and now it doesn't recognize disc 1 at all.

wow mine did the dirty disk yesterday when i was playing MP . This problem must be fixed soon.

I'm having the same issue with trying to enter the gun range, smh. I've only tried once and probably won't try again since its no big deal. I've also had a lot of lag issues plus my Shep fell through map one time, it was very weird.

Yeah I'm having similar probs... The dics went fine up untill I reached the racknai mission ... since then it's just freezing like hell... Not cool at all..

my system has locked up 6 times during different loading screens in me3. thats what got me to this thread. WTF?

I think it may be something with all new games that are being pressed. The last four games that I've bought have been giving me the 'dirty/scratched' error straight out of the box. When I try to install the newer games my disc drive sounds different as well. When I install an older game the thing is loud, you KNOW it's working. Newer games are much quieter. I've posted about this on the support forums but haven't heard anything. I'm using an older system with a 120gb HD. I haven't had any problems with it before. But GoW3, Skyrim, MW3 and now ME3 have all been giving me grief.

I'm going to try switching back to my sd cable ( now using HDMI ) Maybe that'll work since it'll have less capacity needed to render <.< Let's just hope this gets patched in the worst case scenario... I can't even play the game for 5 minutes anymore... You'd think that they came prepared for these kind of things =.=

I'm from the UK and having major issues with ME3.

First time it loaded up and I attempted to import my ME2 character, it did this but couldn't import the facial features.

I got over this, finished the prologue / getting to the normandy mission and popped the first two cheevo's but then at the start of the convo with james about anderson leaving, the sound goes, not the background noise just the dialogue???

Then freezes a the end of the convo or if im lucky, goes to a loading screen then freezes.

I have tried deleting the cache but when I come to install it has twice stopped at 48% with the dirty disk error, again the disk is perfect.

This is GAMEBREAKING for me and I have read that it may be end of the month before this is solved on bioware forums.

UNACCEPTABLE.

I played for 13 hours until March 10th without any problem and then I am having the same issue. The game freezes the 360 with a black screen before the start screen appears.

Also changed my copy at the store, tried uninstalling, clearing the cache, moving saved games off the system, etc.

If I'm not signed in to my xbox profile then I can get to the start screen, but the game will lock up the system as soon as I sign in to my profile.  

EA/Bioware seems to have an issue with certain Gamertags for some reason (mine included). This needs to be fixed asap as it is really unacceptable.
