Main Quest - Season Unending / Jagged Crown... glitch/bug/etc (spoiler)

I cant get ulfric to talk to me to go to the peace treaty meeting. He keeps telling me to meet galmar. But galmar wont talk to me either. So here I am stuck because I cant progress the main story line... Anyone run into this problem and know how to fix?

I have the exact same problem. I guess we just have to wait for Bethesda to patch it. Good thing there's so much more content.

Do you have any active Civil War quests going on at the moment? If so finish them first.

I have same problem, neither say anything but u should be in kovinyurd n nothing happens there

I'm having the same problem every time I ask Ulfric he says "why are you still here, you should be in Kovinyurd proving the Thalmor right or wrong" and galmor says something about covincing him to speak to the imperials !!! any help and does anyone know when there will be a patch for it ?? :(

Im having a problem where i go into the temple, and there is just a wall of rock and vine in my way.  Also, only Ralof and Galmor are with me. They just got through the wall when i exited and left.  I had discovered this place before when trying to find words of power, so that might have screwed me over.

I have the same problem. I started out playing the main quest and decided to go off and find all the dragon words I could then I went back to the main quest and ended up on the quest Season Unending. I have to talk to Arngeir, General Tullius, and Ulfric Stormcloak. The problem is im also on the Joining The Stormcloaks quest. When I first went into talk to Ulfric Stormcloak he said something along the lines of "Didn't Galmar give you something to do?" and so I went and killed the ice wraith and came back to hear the talk between Galmar and Ulfric about the Jagged Crown and now Ulfric says "Speak with Galmar you will be going on an a little errand with him." and when I go to talk to Galmar says "I dont know how you convinced Ulfric to talk the Empire. Worse than a waste of time if you ask me." So this leave we with nothing to do because neither of them will open chat boxes with me and just openly say those two responses. Hopefully this is fixed soon because im pretty sure Alduin will recover before I finish everything in the game but the main quest lol.

I'm having this happen as well. This needs to be patched soon. I want to finish the main story line, it was just getting good!

This game is now unplayble when comes to doing quest in the game that are broken,failed or can't keep going in a quest.

There was a recent patch for Skyrim but it still hasn't changed anything, both Ulfric and Galmar wont let me continue with either quest :(

SAME EXACT thing happens to me. I thought my game disc was just screwed up, but i guess bethesda just needs to get a grip.

Glad that I finished the civil war side quest first and already was a thane in whiterun as I didn't have to convience the jarl to use his palace. He gladly accepted.

This also a failed quest when I get to the final objective to be completed.

Any idea when Bethesda will patch this? CAn it be patched? I really want to finish the main quest. There is no way I'm starting over again or anything like that. This is ridiculous. And I thought Skyrim wouldn't have many major bugs...

Argh, I am having the exact same issue.  I wish I would have known about this beforehand, now I'm stuck and can't finish the main storyline.  I don't want to have to start over, so if this bug isn't fixed soon I'm going to be pretty ticked off with Bethesda, to the level of making a point NOT to purchase any of their games in the future since they have bugs in them that make them unbeatable.  

im stuck at the meeting the jagged crown quest is still active but the general is at the meeting. im supposed to sit down to start the meeting but whenever i do, nothing happens.

You have to finish any quests which they or someone close to them give you. I had to finish a quest before i could continue with the empire.

I had a problem with Galmar as well. When I showed up to one of his tents, he was standing there with his weapon out ready to fight, and would not talk to me or give me any dialog. I fast traveled to my house in White Run, put a few things from my inventory into a chest, and traveled back to meet him. From then on it was fine for me. I did the civil war and main quest story lines last night with no problems other than that.

problem is i cant finish the jagged crown quest because the general is in the meeting hall. every time i try to give him the crown he just says sit down and start the meeting... but nothing happens when i sit down because the other quest isn,t finished.....AAAAAAHHHH

60 hours in and i have to start over?!?!?

I experienced it too. This is definitely a game breaking glitch. I had to reload a save from many levels and missions back. If you need to do the civil war quest line first (which you do because that's what causes this) then the quest "Season Unending" should not be able to be started until that happens.

I am also seeing the same glitch, I cannot get past the meeting the legion is online as well as Ulfric with the stormcloaks. I go and see galmar and he just keeps repeating that he cant believe I got Ulfric to agree to meet with the legion and he conciders it a waste of time. I went to the cave for the Jagged Crown alone and there is no way to get past the two initial doors further into the cave?? Xbox needs to get on this or alot of us will have to start all over. Anyone heard anything new??

ive had this problem since two days after the game came out, i put about 13 hours into the game and luckily it was early enough for me to restart without it being too much of an inconvenience. It is a pain though and unfortunately there is no fix for it at the moment.

I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I was having the same problem and after a little toying around, I found if I had both the Season Unending and The Fallen quests selected, spoke to Arngeir, took my seat, and waited an hour. The quest continued and no problems yet.

Bethesday working with Xbox is supposed to do patching when bugs/ glithces occur. Not sure what they are doing, who is moderating fixs as this particular bug seems to be across anyone who has played this so far?

Ideogeny: did you wait an hour in real time or did you rewind the time in the game? and did you then go to ulfric and you could speak with him?

This makes me nervous because I just started this mission last night.  I was able to locate and retrieve the jagged crown. But now I am on the next part of that mission.  Hopefully I dont have any issues. If I do there is still plenty to do in the game.

Those that are waiting for a storyline repairing patch might be disappointed.  Even if the storyline bugs are patched, it usually wont go into effect unless you start a brand new game save. 

Happened to me too. Skyrims system was mixing thequests up so ulfric wanted me to talk to galmor, but galmor's npc thought i already talked to ulfric about the quest "season unending". So thankful that i found a few game saves from a while ago. just goes to show, back your files up, then back your backed up files up. LOL, I hope this gets patched guys, i really do

Well, I don't know how valid this is, but I read in a forum that someone sent an email to Bethesda and they said that they would have the update that patches this in the next week or so. Again, not sure how valid this is, but hopefully it's true, really want to finish the Stormcloaks storyline, want Ulfric's sword.

Has this bug been fixed or are we left with starting all over?

Hasn't been fixed yet, hopefully it will come with Update 1.4

I'm having the same problems with Galmar and Ulfric not speaking to me.  Is there any way to fix this without starting over??

I dont know if this will work for all but I just spent a half hour trying to find a fix! Okay so I was at the quest where to hace to kill an ice wraith on an island to join the stormcloaks. Ulfric wont let you talk to him about the season unending quest unless you do it. So do that little task, then when you get done it will tell you to talk to Galmar, but dont. I tried this and ended up in the situation where I could not talk to either or them. If you have done this load your autosave when you first enter the palace to talk to Galmar, then hurry in the room while the are talking about the Jagged Crown and talk to Ulfric in the middle of the convo NOT Galmar. I spammed 'A' to talk to him haha not sure if that helped, but either way it let me continue the main quest most importantly and the stormcloaks quest. Then save that *** asap! I hope that helps! Sorry if it doesnt. :(

Yay. okay. so. i had started the ice wraith quest. but no imperial quests. and had not killed the wraith yet. i fast traveled to winterhold from out side the palace. walked to the ice wraith. killed it. (DO NOT SEARCH THE BODY makes it still glitch for me) activated the shrine. got my ahievement which is weird because ive allready hit another. anyways. then standing at the shrine fast traveled back to the palace of the kings ( around 4 30 pm game time when i got there)  unsheath and resheath your weapon twice. wait for them to complete the first part of dialogue about the crown. Ignore galmar go straight to ulfric and talk. hell ask you about joining. select thats not why im here..and you should see the greybeards option. ive allready convinced the general to come to the conference. also. MAKE SURE season unending, joining the storm cloaks , and the fallen are activated and  the only ones so in the quest log. I tried several variations of this before it worked. and if i did not do it exactly like this it would not work for me. so hope this helps. ( also the greybeard guy is stuck saying the same thing getting them to agree to the peace thing so hopefully this fixes that. will report back.)

waited for the blades girl and guy to get escorted back to the meeting room and everything was fine.

Do you know if this just works as soon as you finish the quest, or can I wait an indefinite amount of time? I have just been ignoring it for a while, waiting for Bethesda to patch it, but no luck thus far. I'm gonna try what you did, but if it doesn't work, who's up for filling the bethesda inbox with requests for a bugfix on this? Because this is a pretty big bug, it prevents you from continuing two major questlines in the game.
