Smartglass not working for Halo 4

Yes I have just noticed this on my windows 8 phone, but whenever I try to log into smartglass on my phone while playing halo 4 I am immediately greeted with a message that says Your device is missing certain required features. I'm not sure what I am missing since smartglass is suppose to be compatible with the game? Is their something going on Microsoft's end with this, do I need to be in multiplayer only and not campaign?

Having the same problem here on HTC Trophy from Verizon. I'm using my home network to connect. Firmware Windows Phone 7.5. The only feature it requires is Touch and I know my phone is touch enabled else I wouldn't be able to use it. >.<

I'm having this problem with my WP7.5 device (Samsung Focus). I am also having the same problem on my Windows 8 PC (might be because it's a traditional mouse and keyboard configuration, but it should matter?)

Same here on HTC HD7 7.5, Says it requires Touch, Pretty sure my Smart phone has touch!

Same here with HTC Titan WP7.5 and Nokia Lumia 900 WP7.5 ... A bit of a BIG BIG shame that it works perfect on my iPad and other apple products and not on a microsoft produkt ... Hopefully an update is comming soon

for the winodws phone version at least, haven't seen it on windows 8 store yet, also still haven't tested will post after i test it.

my phones up to date and reinstalled smartglass hmm.... :( im going to try to contact xbox smart glass again

The tech said he thinks it's due to halo but no sure

theres an app on smart glass that says halo stats, and i was able to open it, but i needed a touch interface. the only way i managed to get into it was to use splashtop 2 to emulate touch on winodws 8, and open it from there.

Same here, I have a Htc Hd7 and a Windows 8 pc, doesn't work on either of them... Sucks because it works on my friends iPhone.

I have a nokia 710 and it don't work on mine. itsays I have no touch I get the same on my pc version of windows 8 too.

They're kidding right, why would anyone in their right mind buy a W8 phone now, they supported them for a matter of days before abandoning them.  They will do the same again.  Binning my WP7 and buying android.

What is touch?

I am on the phone with Xbox support. And they say the features of Xbox SmartGlass and Halo 4 are only compatible on Windows phone 8 and ios.

@Da Wraithest: I find that a little bit of bull. They should have made the game compatable with all phones since people do not have the money to buy a certain kind of phone or Ios.

The Halo 4 stats don't work on my IPod 5th gen.

I can't even get it to work correctly on my Surface RT tablet. I try to play the domain terminals and its just a black screen. Many times it won't even connect to the waypoint servers.

Is there any word on what Microsoft plans to do about this?

I haven't tried it yet, but I've read the SmartGlass for Halo 4 was pretty much Halo Waypoint, so maybe you need to have Halo Waypoint installed as well?

Waypoint on WP7 hasn't even been updated yet. Still shows only Reach stats...

What he said.  My Lumia 900 really isn't that old, but it already feels abandoned, yet a first Gen iPad can use this feature without a problem.  This is insane!

my smartglass app on both my iPad 3 & iPhone 5 load up, but when i got into the smartglass sections for both Halo 4 & Forza Horizon it tells me "No Smart Glass featues available at this time", even though I have friends using it fine on their xbox

im using a Samsung Galaxy S3. ive got waypoint installed, not getting the option to use the halo 4 app under the home menu,otherwise eveything else works just fine. i know it works for IOS but please fix it for my phone.

man...for microsoft to advertise this the way they did...the sure do things backwards....i sometimes dont understand their logic...i guess they are trying to get people to buy a wp8...but nobody is gonna buy a phone to see halo stats....really!!!!  halo stats? i dont know who their marketing people are but this type of stuff just alienates people to no end.....

hey im using an asus transfoprmer prime tablet and am using splashtop 2 but I still get that error. I downloaded windows 8 on my pc and streaming it to my tablet. How are you doing it?

Hey I found out how it will work on your win8 pc. Download splashtop 2 on your tablet and splashtop on your pc. Follow the instructions.

Everyone who has problems with getting the halo 4 and Forza map things to work try another account. Post your results an can you also say if you have parental controls or not

I have found a fix for some people hopefully all who cant get  halo 4 and forza to work on smart glass and are using an i device hopefully android to. Take off parental controls if you can.

I'm using Windows Phone 8 on the Lumia 920, mine will attempt to launch the smart glass companion then say that my browser is not supported.  

It is really odd why does not work with Windows 8, because on the Waypoint Q&A it say's that it is compatible.

This error will occur when using the Halo 4 SmartGlass activity on a Windows Phone 7.5 or Android phone. The Halo 4 activity is not compatible with these devices. The list of compatible devices is:

Android has no support for halo 4 on smartglass and no clear sign from xbox support on fixing it. Personally i think it looks like windows 8 & IOS are the only one who.are going to benefit from anything smartglass related. Sad they would cast aside such a large user base.

I found my own answer after quite a bit more searching.  It seems like smart glass features on the WP8 require you to have an Live Gold account.  The error message could be a bit clearer there...
