Duplication glitch

    • Level   7

I think you'd be surprised how small the Nether is in this game (much smaller than even the overworld).  I made a minecart track that basically traces the bedrock border of the Nether and it takes about 1 minute on a minecart to navigate the entire route.

Generates sand? Do you mean like makes sand?

And agreed duplication steals your soul, don't do it. But if you must, youtube is the place to go.

Yeah, I've been in there but was just a quick in and out. How much glowstone did you guys see in there? I don't like doing the duplication glitch but I might just have to with the glowstone. Going to need a lot for projects and also when we finally get redstone lamps. Would dupe the pumpkins to use for lighting but I'll wait for when we can farm them.

Glowstone is by far the greatest thing of value in the Nether (the second way down in importance would probably be easy access to lava).  Sadly, there is far too little of it.  Torches are a completely renewable resource, so I try to use that where I can.  I do hope that 4J takes me up on my suggestion and compensates for the limited size of the gameworld by offering as DLC portals into other overworlds and Nethers.  Such portals would provide the user with an endless supply of resources by porting resources from one world to the next, and yet likely would not use any additional RAM (since it only has to generate one world at a time).

I guess it all depends on how you play.. I find the easy access to cooked pork and mass amounts of mushrooms more of value then glowstone and lava.

Hope they do portals to link worlds.

Alas, I have no shortage of mushrooms.  They infect my base.  I can't seem to get rid of them all.

You should see mine. They are everywhere under the overhang where I'm at growing on my chests, furnaces, half slabs I put down for my infinite water source, and probably my wolf.

    • Level   7

I have realized that, once they spread, the only way to get rid of them all is not only to pick them, but get rid of the block they are on, since they seem to leave seeds in the block that will cause them to sprout again.  Then you have to make sure there is a new, uninfected block between you and the source of the infestation.

    Cleanse it with FIRE!!!!

    • Level   5

I think it was in the next update they get patched to where they only grow in groups of 5 and they don't grow on certain blocks like the ones I mentioned. I' m probably going to leave them on my furnaces and chests just for the humor value.

    • Level   7

Yeah, I should clense my wool floor with fire.  That will work just fine. :)
