I'm not sure in what capacity but we've already seen Kinectimals and such make its way to iPhone.  Reports are in that Microsoft intends to bring more Xbox Live to Android and iOS.

Yep.. The iOS games don't come to WP7 why should our games come to theirs..?

True, it also may make some people but ios etc inspead or a WP. You dont see Mario coming out on PSV do you?

It makes me a little anxious, what would REALLY make me furious is if they allow other operating systems to earn Xbox Live Achievement points (That is one thing MS really has going for them... and in my opinion should keep achievements exclusive to 360, XBLA, WP7, and PC LIVE).

To me it really doesn't bother me that they get Xbox live titles because I didn't buy a windows phone for Xbox I got it because I the its the best OS for me and Xbox live is just a plus.

....absolutely nothing. Don't get me wrong, I love my phone. I don't think MS is saying 'forget our own platform', I think that they are trying to increase opportunity for a larger download fan base. Angry Birds is amazing on an iPad, but leaves a lot to be desired on the HTC Trophy I currently have. So much so, that I won't purchase it unless it's DotW. Expanding the component list by adding hardware is a smart move, and I would welcome it.

I understand the intent to raise awareness of what WP is capable of doing, and for that I hope it does get people interested in our OS, but with all valid logical points MS has aside.. I still don't like it.

Personally Im not bothered, I enjy my phone and the games and it doesnt bother me that others get to play some of these games as well.

My primary concern is people not seeing a reason to come to or stick with WP, and it going downhill like my last favorite OS did - Palm/WebOS. I'd hate to have to go to Android or iPhone.

As mr Deutsche said, the main thing which i'd be bothered about is if you can start earning xbox live achievements on a non MS operating system. Earning achievements on my phone was a pretty big reason for switching to WP7.

I would rather everything Xbox related stay exclusive to Windows Phone. Maybe give other platforms a taste, but not a full implementation.

good comments .. personally i'm in the boat where it might just make WP7 pointless if many of the features are available elsewhere ..especially Xbox Live features like Achievements.

I got a WP7 and I'm not bothered by it. Windows Phone is a much better experiance than iOS and Android that it can stand on its own,

It is nice feature of Windows Phone to be Xbox Live enabled but its not the reason as to why I wanted it. I use Hotmail as my email central for all my email accounts, I use Windows Live calendar for scheduling, I use Zune for my media, I use SkyDrive as my cloud storage, and having the Office built in has been helpful too. For this reason alone, I wanted Windows Phone 7, it is built around what I use and that is Microsoft products such as Windows, Office, Zune, etc. I do use the Xbox Live app for seeing whos online, once in a while messaging, but thats it. I haven't played games on it. I played some Trials but not bought anything. I have downloaded free Xbox Live games but haven't even played them yet.

Yes it would bother me. I love the OS but, one of the features I liked best (this is before I bought the phone and fell in love with OS) was it had XBL and achievements. If Live goes to the other platforms and brings games with it, I'm fine. Give them anything but, never give up our achievements!!! Like others have said, doing so could jeopardize the viability of the OS (Never having tried WP prior to my purchase... if I could unlock cheevos on iOS, that is probably the way I would have gone). I hope we never see this happen as I love the OS... and our cheevos.

I would welcome it as I'm very displeased with the chance I took at buying a WP7. In the present moment I am switching to Android as soon as possible. The only plus to my new phone is the getting achievements on it. Business wise, I think they'd be foolish not to... Open up your clientel and make an OS that can compete on its own without proprietary tricks. I'm not trying to bash WP7 too badly here, but it's definitely not for me.

I know this thread is a couple of months old, but I'm wondering if people here have changed their opinions now that the box app is available for other platforms?

I'm fine with this providing it remains in it current state (limited version compared with WP7), it aligns with what J Allard described with "Live Anywhere" back in 2005/2006.  He talked about supporting all phone OS's back then (Java, etc.).

Although, i would like to know the pricing of said games released on iphone. If they are cheaper than on the WP7, then i may have an issue with it seeing as most games on iphone are 79p and not a minimum of £2.49!!!

Agreed.  Microsoft need to match pricing on other platforms at the very least.

They continue to fail to do so with Games for Windows Live and that platform has suffered for it.

Windows could lose a massive usp if they did expand to ios and android.

I think it is a bad move on Microsoft's side they should FOCUS on the WP7 and soon WP8, not the competition...

No, because pushing XBL on other platforms is a means to draw in more users.

Putting XBL games on those other platforms could be seen as an ice breaker for some of those users.

I don't mind games going to other Operating systems, but please MS keep the achievements to us WP users! We need something for people to get excited about xbox live on WP.
