I am having the same problem here. Though I searched for the error code C000009C and it came up with having to re calibrate the sensor. Problem is when I went to recalibrate it  the system told me to put the card where my face is so it will find where it needs to be. Now when I did that it went higher than it should have and now it is being a pain and not doing it. The instructions on the site show that you place the card where you would stand and also get it centered. I went to try that and the sensor won't even bother working. It was being a pain since I bought it (granted it was working better tha it is now). Took it about a hour or so to start error messaging me while I was playing. Such a pain!

Sorry but that problum means your kinect has a virus sorry but you have to send it in to repair.

It's not possible for a Kinect or an Xbox 360 to get a "virus", don't know what that guy was talking about.
