Normally if you get the child to leave the field of play and return that solves it. I have children from 5 to 14 that use it and after explaining how to communicate & wave to the Kinect they have mastered the moves. The only trouble I have sometimes is getting them to understand the movements, like on Rush or JoyRide, but apart from that they are high riders that can load Kinect Sports (amoung other games) start it and navigate their way through all the different modes hassle free. Another thing I have been known to do is crouch behind them not in view of the Kinect (otherwise it reconises me and signs me in) and move their limbs for them so they then know how. :)
