MODDERS CONTINUE TO HAVE THEIR WAY

Wow  now i have accumulated a total of 35 Modders names who have continued to abuse the terms of use.  They keep freezing peoples xbox at will Grand theft auto 4 is a very popular for hackers to mod and xbox is not doing enough to capture these people. To prove my point i have in my friends list a modder and still he continues to play eventhough i have made several complains in his profile for system tampering. Its been several months and I still see him online.

Please if you are not part of the enforcement team do not comment. Childish advice as putting my online status to offline or avoiding people doesnt work. If your xbox hasnt been frozen BY A MODDER in a GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 game please do not comment. Its always the SAME people playing the game so avoiding does not work for the simple fact that in one way or the other most players are in each others friends list, you would have to avoid many people and that is not the point!

I think we all deserve the right to play in a fair game dont you think, xbox?

[MOD REMOVED]- supplier of modded GTA IV 'Boot Freeze' discs. This was brought to the attention of both the XBLPET and the UA department at Microsoft earlier this year. Those affiliated gamertags were perma-banned but the problem is with Rockstar's lack of enforcement and, in all honesty, their effort to enact any such system that prevents this. The solution, as talked about recently, was to enable an auto-detection system; similar to XBLPET's software that auto-detects modified avatar changes; resulting in a 'Sys-Tamp' perma-ban; however they failed to pick-up the idea nor invest anytime into at all; which is allowing their copyrighted discs to be tampered with and distributed via these websites. We should try to push Rockstar to implement these technology because it's rather effective and simple in its idea.

  • No they don't. http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/41.aspx Proof of that can be seen in that link. On a side note, if you know the game is no longer supported by the Game Developer, hence all the mods/hacks, then why continue to play it? Are you a glutton for punishment? And you posted in a PUBLIC forum so you are going to get responses from regular gamers like me. Especially since the XBL PET, the only people who control policy enforcement on XBL, do not patrol the forums here. The only forum they do frequent is the linked one above. And consequently that is the only place for an official response, if they deem it necessary.

No, they can only tell you and walk you through the steps of how to file a complaint.  They most likely are not going to set up a case for this issue.  They may notate it on your account, but what good does that really do?  Just file a complaint, and then done.  The XBLPET reviews complaints withing 24 hours according to their video they posted on the forums. :)

  • Calling support will not do anything in this case. Simply file the report and move on. Xbox and XBLPET are doing all they can to stop them.

  • What you've just done there is given that site free advertising on a widely read public forum. Nicely done.

Nice to see one does not need to possess Common Sense to become an XBL Ambassador. Also nice to see MS has lowered their standards. Over the past several weeks I have noticed a vast increase in XBL Ambassadors in the forums here and a vast increase in misinformation from many of them. (Not saying this is the case in this post though).

  • Hey Tem, if you have an issue or suggestion about the Xbox Ambassadors program.  Then please email XboxAmbassadors@microsoft.com.  Sorry to hear you say that about us, but if you would like to get the Xbox Ambassadors program manager kinda "a piece of your mind" or an idea of some kind.  You always welcome to send him an email. :)  Just thought I would let you know that you always have that option.

  • Over the last six months I've watched the Ambassador Program go from something reputable to a complete and utter joke. MS is taking just about anyone who signs up for it without checking their background and most of the Ambassadors continue to give out bad information. This post is confirmation of that. And don't get me wrong not all of the Ambassadors are like that but the many who are ruin it for the few that are respectable and knowledgeable. My option is to voice my opinion here, so everyone else knows that. Keeping it private doesn't solve the issue or draw light to it.

Thank you though for the information.

  • Despite the fact that a lot of people I know from here are ambassadors (hello to you) I've got side with Tem on this. At the moment the madness is controllable, newly minted ambassadors appear, there's at most one or two minor foul ups and then they disappear again once they get bored. However there's going to come a point where the foul ups become more serious and instead of just disappearing after a week they'll stay and start acting like they have a substantial amount of authority at which point you're going to run into serious problems. We've had modders appear on here as ambassadors and they were hardly hiding that fact because their avatars were usually neon or a Google of their GT revealed their TTG post history. That should've set alarm bells ringing that something was wrong.

The entire system needs looking at before the ambassador program starts doing more bad than good if it's not doing that already.

  • This is a month old thread that's been dead since March 9th. Did it really need bumping just so you could tell someone with a valid point to stay on topic?
