Help connect Xbox 360 to my Computer and Windows Media Player 12

I have had a lot of problems connecting my Xbox 360 device to my laptop and Windows Media Player 12. I have hear that it is a good way to stream music and videos from one to another, so I tried.

I hade read something about it, and I have tried many things, but it just seems not to work. I was hoping you guys could explain or point me in a direction.

My laptop is connected with the network through wireless internet to a router. From the router, there is a ethernet cable going to my Xbox 360. Now, I it is always possible to connect to the Xbox Live, wich suggests that there is a connection between my Xbox 360 and the network. When I try to connect my Xbox 360 to my Computer using my Xbox, it says that the Xbox is connected to the network, but not the computer.

Is there probably something I have to do on my computer to enable sharing, so that it can connect to the Xbox?

I can also add that I am using a Windows 7 laptop, with Windows Media Player 12
