Hey there Alpaca! When you were first setting up your new USB device, did you properly format it to FAT32 and follow all the steps to format it on the console? Did you get any error message about the drive not meeting all the requirements? I would suggest reformatting the drive and testing it again, or possibly replacing it with a different device. Let me know if this helps, thanks!

when i first formatted it, it said it met all the requirements, and i would try to reformat at it, but it dosnt show up on storage devices list. also if i reformat the device it will loose all its data, and i cant copy the data over to the MU because it dosnt even get recognized by the xbox!

Hey there, what if you take the flash drive, copy everything over to a computer. Then I would reformat it to FAT32. That way you won't lose your data and you can make sure the USB is in the right format. If your unsure of how to reformat I would gladly help you with that, just let me know. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

    what do i do?

Try plugging the flash drive into a rear USB port on the console. The new Trinity models seem to have some power limitations on the front USB ports.

There is no Microsoft-sanctioned method to do that.

Sorry about that, thank you for setting me straight IceStorm, much appreciated. I have also heard of the possible power limitations on the new models of the front usb ports.

I am having the same issues with my xbox slim that I got yesterday. I added an 8g pny flashdrive, formatted it, saved profiles to it, and now its not recognized in any of the front or back usb slots. I've done all the updates to the xbox, and I am pretty disappointed in it right now.
