    How to Find SSID (Network Name)

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    6. The Network Name (SSID) can be found next to Network Name (SSID). If a new name is desired type it here.
    7. Select Save.

     

    Wireless Password

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    6. The wireless passphrase will be listed as "Network Key".

     

    Changing Wireless Security  Type/Disabling

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    6. The wireless security type can be selected from the Security drop down. If no wireless security is desired select Disabled. For WPA select WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK or Mixed WPA/WPA2.
    7. Enter the new wireless passphrase.
    8. Click the Save button.

     

    MAC Filtering

    Changing the Wireless Channel

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    6. From the drop down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11).
    7. Select Save.

     

    Changing Wireless Mode

    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.

    6. From the drop down menu labeled Mode select "11g only".
    7. Select Save.

     

    Change Wireless Band (width)

    The wireless band (width) cannot be changed on this device. The default is 20 MHz

    DHCP Reservation

    DHCP Reservation is not available on this device.

     

    UPnP

    There is no option for UPnP on this device.

     

    DMZ

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    3. Select Advanced from the menu on the left.
    4. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    5. Select Connection Configuration from the submenu on the left.
    6. In the dropdown labeled "Select Device to receive unsolicited traffic" select Static NAT.
    7. Select the Xbox from the next dropdown menu.
    8. Select Save.

    Disable DMZ

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    3. Select Advanced from the menu on the left.
    4. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    5. Select Connection Configuration from the submenu on the left.
    6. In the dropdown labeled "Select Device to receive unsolicited traffic" select Dropped.
    7. Select Save.

     

    Port Forwarding

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    3. Select Advanced from the menu on the left.
    4. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    5. Select Port Forwarding from the submenu on the left.
    6. Select Xbox Live from the dropdown box labeled Service Name.
    7. Select Enable.
    8. On the next screen, select "Both (Rules will be created for both the directions)".
    9. Select the MAC Address of the Xbox in the dropdown box labeled Select LAN Device.
    10. Select Apply.

     

    Disable Port Forwarding

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    3. Select Advanced from the menu on the left.
    4. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    5. Select Port Forwarding from the submenu on the left.
    6. Click the delete button next to the rule regarding Xbox Live.

     

    Firewall

    Updating Firmware

    Firmware updates are installed automatically by the Internet Service Provider.

    How to Find Firmware Version

    2. Open a web browser.

    4. Select Advanced from the menu on the left.
    5. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    6. Select Manual Update from the menu on the left.
    7. The firmware version is listed at the top next to Current Software Version.

     

    Restoring Defaults
    Through firmware

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    4. Select Advanced from the menu on the left.
    5. When prompted, enter the Device Access Code printed on the device.
    6. Select Reset Gateway from the submenu.
    7. Select Yes.

    Through Hardware

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Locate the reset button on the device.
    3. With paperclip/pen/toothpick hold down the reset button down for 30 seconds.
    4. Wait for lights to turn off then return to normal.

     

    Bridging Guide or Entering PPPoE

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.1.254
    4. Click advanced tab.
    5. Click ppp location sub tab.
    6. Select the radio button "ppp is on the computer, gateway or router."
    7. Enter access code provided on sticker of gateway.
    8. Save and restart through prompts.

     

    Multiple Console Support
    Confirmed, No.

     

    Known Issues

    The Xbox (both 360s and original xbox 360 with external adapters) may be unable to recognize WPA/WPA2 mixed mode from this device.  The Xbox will ask for a WEP key, then reject the passphrase as invalid.  Changing encryption type to WPA-PSK(TKIP) resolves the issue.

    11. On the following screen set the Authentication method to Personal(Pre-Shared Key)
    12. Set the WPA Type to WPA Any.
    13. Enter the desired wireless passphrase into the WPA Shared Key space.
    14. Click the Apply button.

    The Frontier (Netgear) version of this will cause an MTU error until the Firewall is changed from Typical to Off.
