Hey everyone, I have an official update. Thank you all for reaching out to me with that information, it was very helpful but no longer necessary!

I've responded to a thread in forum 03 regarding this same issue. Please give it a read. The basic message is that we can resolve the authentication loops, but we ask that you contact our phone team to do so. They'll be able to provide the best assistance with this and I can't do it directly from the forums.

I really appreciate everyone's patience and I understand it's been frustrating. Now let's get everyone back online so you can enjoy the season!

Hi, about the same time my son's account has done exactly the same thing. When I try sign in as him on xbox.com it says he needs a parent to sign in, I sign in and it prompts me to allow him access to set up an account (which of course he's had for over a year), when I accept this it says the address and dob is missing, but we can't get into the account to edit it.

Maybe there is a wider issue, given its affected more than one person in exactly the same way at roughly the same time!

We have the same problem - driving me mad! Have tried everything - stuck in some kind of loop! Hope it resolves overnight??

I've got the same error on my daughter's account. When I'm trying to give consent on website it says Your account is missing a full name or date of birth. Visit account.live.com to update the required information, then try again. Checked account and all details are correct. Dont know what else to you.

How about one of the "official Support" people answer this issue for the thousands of elfin people affected? I would understand the lack of knowledge and answers about this from sony, but we pay real *** money for this service.  We deserve at least a bit of information.  This is so disappointing.

We're not alone then! I'll leave it overnight and try it tomorrow, hopefully someone at Microsoft is watching this!

Out of interest, I tried the help pages on here, click the Account Settings help and any option I tried to select didn't display correctly, not a lot of use really.

Exactly the same issue here, appears the update has broken things.  It has to be fixed by the time schools kick out tomorrow, or my life will possibly be over... please fix.

    Greetings!

This could be due to failing synchronization between the Xbox LIVE account information that are being obtained from LIVE and the information stored locally on your console. Try delete profile (Delete Profile Only) and download the profile from LIVE. Here's how:

How to delete Xbox LIVE profile safely
Before you delete your profile you have to know the username and password for your Microsoft account that is associated with your profile.

    1. Go to Settings, and then select System.
    2. Select Storage.
    3. Select All Devices.
    4. Select Gamer Profiles.
    5. Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
    6. Select Delete.
    7. Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.

    Clear Xbox system cache

    1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
    2. Select Storage or Memory.
    3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
    4. Select Clear System Cache.
    5. Clear your Xbox system cache 3 times in row.

    Restart your console

    Download Xbox LIVE profile.

    1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
    2. Select Download Profile.
    3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
    4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

Post back and let us know how that goes.

Well support came through for me I think, as I have just gone to try the above solution but it was working fine again, have had no email so it could have righted itself or support have worked there magic, just so happy its fixed as my son was so upset last night, think he thought he was been punished.

Exactly the same issue here, very frustrating as we've only had the xbox 360 for 24h........not a very good start :-/  Thought it was something we had done at first, glad it's not. Look forward to seeing a resolution here.

Same problem here :(  it said to login to xbox.com which I've done and it said temporary problem.  The live is on my son's account. He's not happy!

If I delete gamer profile as suggested above will he lose his friends?

I've tried the procedure suggested by taidara to no avail, still getting the same error on the console, when I log into xbox.com as my son it prompts me to log the parent account in, I do this, accept it and get told date of birth etc missing.

Anyone know how to formally report this to Microsoft or do we just rely on them watching these forums?
