Update Error Status: 3F4B-0000-3080-0502-8007-0070

  • Level   1

I've tried downloading the 2/19/2013 Update from Xbox Live using the console and it doesn't work, I've followed the instructions using the USB Flash Drive (which worked for the previous update) and the CD/DVD method as well and I cannot get anything to work.  I keep getting the Status Code: 3F4B-0000-3080-0502-8007-0070

Thanks in advance for your help!!

    Error code and message

Error code xxxx-xxxx-xx8x-xxxx-8007-xxxx is preceded by the following message:

    Cannot process update.

    Status code: xxxx-xxxx-xx8x-xxxx-8007-xxxx

    Problem

If you’re seeing this message and error code, it means that the update failed to download to your Xbox 360 console.

    Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Download the update again

    Restart your console.

Press the Guide button on your controller (center X button on your controller).

Go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

    Select Network Settings.

Select Wired Network or your wireless network name (if you're prompted to do so).

    Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Select Yes if you are prompted to update your console software.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Check your Xbox LIVE connection

If you're having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox LIVE, see Xbox LIVE connection problems.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 3: Make sure you have enough storage space

The latest console software update requires at least 190 megabytes (MB) of storage space (or 256 MB if you live in Japan). If you do not have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. See Copy, move, or delete Xbox 360 content.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 4: Clear the system cache

Removing the temporary files on your console might solve the problem. Follow the instructions at Clear your Xbox 360 system cache, then try downloading the update again.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 5: Reinsert the storage device

If you’re using an Xbox 360 Memory Unit or a USB flash drive instead of a hard drive, remove and reinsert the memory unit or USB flash drive.

If you have a hard drive, try removing and adding the hard drive again.

After you replace the storage device, try downloading the update again.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 6: Copy the update to a USB flash drive, to a CD, or to a DVD

If none of the preceding solutions fixed the problem, copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive, to a CD, or to a DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here’s how:

Copy to a USB flash drive

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.

Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

    Download the update file.

Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.

    Unzip the file:

If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.

If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).

Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.

Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.

    Restart the console.

When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

    Burn to CD or DVD

You can also download the update to your computer, burn the update to a CD or DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here's how:

On your computer, download the update file .

Insert a blank, writeable CD or DVD into your computer.

Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and choose to write (burn) the files to the disc.

Once the files have been burned to disc, remove that disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.

    Restart the console.

When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

If you get an error code such as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-C000-0001 after you copy the update to a flash drive, a CD, or a DVD and then install the update on your console, contact Xbox Support.

Darklink posted this fix somewhere else. Give it a try:

    forums.xbox.com/.../477521.aspx

These are the steps I took to fix:

Try clearing your system cache, 3 times exactly! And then re-start your console. Also, try going to the storage section of the dashboard and then press LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X

It will then ask you if you want to delete the system update. Select Yes and it will delete then re-download the system update.
