XBOX LIVE Connection and Updates

  • Level   1

Since update of XBOX LIVE around 19th February 2012;

Since the update around that time, I have been repeatedly diconnected, xbox freezing, not loading, game data lost, cannot connect at all.

Around 21st February 2012 Update required message. Update failed. did this many times.

Even had one message that said my internet connection was too slow to play Games on.  It has been adequate for the last 3 years, other computers and consoles are still ok.

23rd February 2012 Read on news there is a colouring issue with xbox live and an update is required.

Still unable to perform updates. Get various error codes.

Now read that xbox live has "voice recognition issues"

Try updates again, more error codes.

Read on forums and other places  that I appear to be one of many with similar issues.

I do hope these "Colour" and "Voice Recognition" issues which appear to be so serious that they have shut down a large proportion of gamers that PAY for the gaming service are resolved soon.

PS3 is getting more use than it normally does at the moment.

Attempt downloads again, still fails, try all sugestions regarding clearing caches etc. factory reset, connected xbox via cable

What shal I and others try next, we await the answer.

6.Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.

7.Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

8.If there is a disc in the console, remove it.

2.Put the disc in the disc drive and then turn your console off.

3.Turn on the console. The update process should complete.

This error occurs if your console has been tampered with or modified. Your console can no longer connect to Xbox LIVE, install software updates or play new games that require a console software update.

Physically disconnect your network cable or remove your Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor from the console.

You can use the following steps to turn off the automatic sign-in so that you can play games offline. To turn off auto sign-in:

    1.Restart your console.

2.Select No if you are prompted to update your console software.

3.Press the Guide button on your controller.

4.Go to Settings and then select Profile.

    5.Select Sign-in Preferences.

6.Set Profile Auto Sign-in to Off.

7.Press the B button on your controller to return to the Xbox Dashboard.

Your console can now play your existing games offline. Any future attempts to sign into Xbox LIVE or update your console software will result in an error.

Your console had a problem during the update process. Carefully, follow these step-by-step instructions:

1.Eject the disc tray and remove any disc from the console.

Important Do not close the disc tray. Leave it open.

2.With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.

3.Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console.

4.Plug the power cord back into the console.

5.Push the power button on the console. The tray should close the rest of the way, then the console should restart and display the Xbox Dashboard.

Important Do not use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step.

6.Try updating your console software again.

The update should now continue. If the above steps do not work, the console might need to be repaired. Please contact Xbox Support using the Assistance section at the bottom of this page.

Reboot your console with the disc that prompted for an update. If that fails, try updating your console software by copying the update to a USB flash drive or CD.

This is my code all the time. This really pisses me off because I just bought GOW3. And I just got a 12 month card. I swear, this has only happened once, but I feel like playing the PS3 from now on

Thought this had been fixed when i was able to access the update but apparently not, from the lack of help from Microsoft kinda feel those with the problem should be compensated for the lack of service we have paid for

    • Level   1

If this is not fixed by the end of the week I plan to call Microsoft and ask for compensation. I spent more then my fair share of money on this system. [mod removed], once you play online, you can't go back to offline!

This is very true. Playing against other gamers is far better than any game against a machine, that is why we are so frustrated.

The problem does seen widespread just viewing this and other threads.

I have just tried again and still update fails.

    Now have theses error codes.

I am going to attempt the update using a memory stick from this site as suggested in the "HELP" pages.

I will try this when I can find out where it is.

    Copied files to memory stick

    Loaded them onto XBOX

    Got error code

    Tried again

    Now a new code

    Restarted XBOX

    Now another code

    Quite different to others.

Turned XBOX off and back on again

I  was then able to sign into XBOX Live.

    Not all features seemed avaliable.

Did see 9 friends online but did not look at messages or what status/games playing etc.

Put a game in which loaded, I was then disconnected immeadiately from xbox live, game closed and received another code

Please can Microsoft fix this soon, renewed XBOX Live a few weeks ago and cannot use it.

Looks like the PS3 until then.

This whole update is horrible. I had the update finally download after 2 days but nothing load on the dashboard so i was told to delete the newest update and re-download, the re-downloading has yet to be successful.

    • Level   1

Where are they when we need them?

    • Level   1

Just turned XBOX on, no new update but XBOX connected to XBOX Live straight away. Completely baffled.

I might just risk playing a game online later.

    • Level   1

Tried it on my brothers Xbox. Worked perfectly. Then tried it on mine. Error. FML!

I think I might just have to sell it and get another.

It's a really sad and bad day for me:(

    • Level   1

It is probably not your XBOX.

I can now connect to XBOX Live, or could for a few hours.

However when I start to play a game online I am disconnected immeadiately or after playing for just a few minutes.

Currently I cannot connect at all.

Tried a few different games and all get disconnected.

No error codes or update information displayed now.

    What is happening ????????????

Could Microsoft not just say that there is an issue, there seems to be many gamers with similar issues.

Information on XBOX Live website is about general connection problems and does not seem to acknowledge the level of the problem.
